Bloodline Design was founded in the dinning room of a single bedroom apartment at 14th and Granville in Vancouver, Canada in 1994. Malcolm and Andrea shared the tiny apartment with their first born son Eben. A shop vac hung out the second story window as a dust collector. An electric drill was used as a polishing machine. They were meager beginnings for sure.
Many roads led to the little apartment and the early beginnings of Bloodline Design. Founder and Designer, Malcolm Norman was one of those boys where school just wasn't his thing. He learned early the value of creativity. At the age of 13 he was honing his hands tying Atlantic Salmon flies for the prestigious W.W. Doak stores in New Brunswick and choosing the salmon rivers, action sports and the great outdoors over the classroom. In the summer of his grade 11 year he opened a Skate and Surf shop, created branding and apparel for the store and developed his sculpting skills shaping windsurfers. In the winter, while in school he sold snowboards through a 1-800 number. It was 1987.
